MySpace allows users to share their MySpace profiles with other websites
30 June, 2008
Social networking site MySpace has launched Data Availability, a data sharing project that would enable users to share their MySpace profiles with other websites. However, third-party sites would not be allowed to store MySpace user data on their websites.
According to MySpace, Data Availability will work on a strict opt-in basis and users will have the option of sharing all or some of their information, which they can control through a dashboard on the MySpace website. [Source: iMedia]

That's a nice initiative, but I think myspace being a leader in its domain can afford that. I would like to see other websites following the suit though, not sure if it will make sense for them.
After reading about HelloTree here a few days ago, I was thinking why don't they support data sharing. I think your family tree is probably more exhaustive and complicated to maintain and enter on another website than your social profile. What say?
